THOUGHT PROVOKING COACHING QUESTIONS SPARKING NEW INSIGHTS & POSSIBILITIES!
How Coaching Begins
Typically, we will arrange a time to have an initial discussion called the CoachMe Session – for us to get to know each other a little and to answer any questions you may have.
If you choose to hire me as your coach, I’ll send you a Welcome Package containing: our Coaching Agreement, any workbooks or supplemental material required, and we will also book our first session together.
The Exploration Phase
If you are not fully convinced of the coaching format or relationship you may elect to participate in on of our 90-minute Webinars.
In these group webinars we explore work/life balance, career, values exploration, project/goals, and more.
If you choose to hire me as your coach at this point, I’ll send you a Welcome Package containing: our Coaching Agreement, any workbooks or supplemental material required, and we will also book our first session together. Additionally, this is where you will begin to take control of your 1-on-1 Coaching journey.
The Real Discoveries
Your first session is where we spend the majority of time curiously exploring your specific direction and needs. This is a deep discovery, beyond spoken words and into values, beliefs, and hidden drivers.
We’ll do ongoing strengths and values work in first number of sessions, as well as identify and get to know these inner drivers and dialogue.
At these and ongoing sessions, you will bring any topic of discussion you want to the session, and we’ll explore together. You are always in the drivers’ seat with these sessions and in to regard what you wish to talk about and move towards (or away from).
You can bring issues, problems, or challenges on the one hand – and on the other, you can bring topics you wish to celebrate and acknowledge.
How long is each session?
Sessions are longer in the beginning – starting with a 90-minute session, then several 45-minute to 1-hour sessions. Some clients continue with 90-minute sessions and others stick with the 60-minute session. There are also options for 30-minute to 45-minute focused sessions once we have created a flow in our partnership. Any of these bookings can be made through your Customer Centre.
We take a building-block approach to our coaching packages. I have tools and techniques which apply to a variety of focus areas. Some of these can be considered foundational.
Your Customer Centre will introduce you to these areas and as the sessions progress you may choose to select specific tools to reach a personal objective. The Customer Centre is also where your supporting documentation and session notes will be made available to you.
Where is coaching done?
Most of my coaching is done remotely – either by Zoom or phone (Teams can be made available). Remote coaching makes scheduling coaching into your life so much easier, and you are always in control of the schedule.
In-person sessions may be arranged if our physical locations permit. I am always open to arranging in-person sessions for additional fees if larger distances must be covered (time and travel expenses).
A rule of thumb for travel: anything outside 16km or 10miles from my office or residence is considered “outside headquarters area” and may require time and travel charges.
What does a coaching session look like?
A coaching session looks like a conversation. At the start of each session, we’ll align ourselves, so as to tune out the noise of a busy or worried mind, and we’ll tune in to the more coherent and calm coaching vibe. Then we’ll define the agenda or focus of the session and what you wish to get out of it (your focus your desired outcome).
In each session you will be doing a majority of the talking.
My job is to listen deeply for what you say and don’t say, to sense your energy, and very importantly, to intuitively ask you questions that will help bring you the insight(s) you are looking for to help you move forward.
The questions continue, along with non-judgmental feedback, acknowledgements of your strengths, encouragement and when you are ready, new options and possibilities (choices) will reveal themselves to you.
Then it’s up to you, with my full-hearted support, to commit to your next step.
Some sessions stay in the territory of insight and awareness for most of the session – especially at the beginning of a coaching engagement. While other sessions, as defined by you, focus on helping you commit and create ways to be accountable for your next step.
Each session concludes with a review of what you’re taking away so you can anchor the value you are taking away. Additionally, homework or an inquiry to keep you on track may conclude a session.
In the next session we’ll check in to see where you’re at, what you’ve accomplished or didn’t (without judgment of course), and then decide again what you would like to focus on for that day.
How long is a typical coaching agreement? journey?
It’s up to you. One would benefit from committing at least 3 to 4 months of coaching over weekly or bi-weekly intervals to really get a fair sense of the value coaching has in their life.
Some individuals come to coaching for a particular issue or decision and stay as clients long after because they benefit from coaching. Others may have just needed a few powerful sessions to gain a new awareness of how to face a particular challenge.
There is no limit to growth and expansion. As long as the coaching benefits the client, and growth is occurring, it can go on indefinitely.
However, my personal goal with my coaching clients is that a level of expansion has occurred that the client has become so very resourceful on their own that ongoing coaching is not required. The best coach may be the coach that coaches themselves out of work.
This is where we may discuss and choose to explore my exclusive MentorMe journey. This is only for specific clients who are strongly committed and where we have developed the necessary relationship to move into a mentorship contract.
MentorMe is specifically meant for those who have chosen to undertake the Leadership Journey or an Entrepreneurial Journey. The MentorMe journey includes coaching sessions but is not a purely coaching experience.
If the leadership or entrepreneurial path calls to you in life I offer many complimentary resources on these topics. HERE
